Through our collaboration with 25:2 we are implementing world class ai breeding methods, allowing us to screen our varieties at a much higher rate. Through the use of marker assisted breeding we are able to adapt our genetics quicker to both grower needs and consumer demands. Some of the traits we are focused on are disease resistance, flavor, crispness, and aroma.
Pairwise
Pairwise is a pioneering food start-up committed to helping people live healthier, fuller lives. They are leading the way to wellness by combining gene-editing capabilities, deep crop science expertise and cutting-edge data techniques to cultivate fruits and vegetables that are naturally irresistible and easier to enjoy. Through our collaboration with Pairwise we are implementing gene editing accross our caneberry breeding programs to bring to market fruit with traits that would otherwise take a lifetime to achieve through traditional breeding methods.Â
Simplot
The J.R. Simplot Company’s Purpose, to Contribute to Feeding our World, drives their commitment to global food and agriculture. Their diverse portfolio spans from the soil to the sea, to dinner tables around the world, and the agriculture-related interests in between. Through our collaboration with Simplot, we are implementing gene editing across all of our strawberry breeding programs to bring to market fruit with traits that would otherwise take a lifetime to achieve through traditional breeding methods.Â
